There are certain things I am an admitted cheap ass over and there other things I don’t mind splurging on. My family’s safety falls into the latter category. I saw this show last week where these former professional burglars break into a persons home to show them what they are doing wrong in protecting their home. The very first thing they did was check to see if there were any open windows they could crawl in. If there weren’t, they simply wrapped a towel around their hand and broke a window. This caused alarm bells to ring in my head. The next morning I went around my house and saw how easy it would be even with locked windows. I wanted new ones and I wanted them yesterday. I decided to get windows with double glazing. They provide extra security and are next to impossible to break from the outside. They also provide excellent insulation but that was secondary in my thoughts. I should have them in by next week and will sleep a lot easier at night knowing they are there.
